Meet Akina, our adorable Japanese macaque. Her name means "spring flower" in Japan, her home. What a deceptive name! There aren't many spring flowers where she lives, as it's a very cold climate. No wonder she loves to cuddle so much. Won't you give her a hug, too? As they say in Japan, "Much love conquers much adversity." This Wild Republic Hanging Plush macaque features Velcro on her paws and feet for "hanging around the house"! Akina is white with a greenish tint.
Akina is a Japanese macaque. Macaques are hardy, intelligent primates with stout bodies and powerful limbs. Macaques are also known as snow monkeys. That's because they live in a cold climate. To keep warm, they cuddle together. They even sit in hot springs for extra warmth. Macaques live mainly on Japan's four largest islands: Honshu, Hokkaido, Shikoku, and Kyushu.
